This is your (G)Host speaking:

"Welcome to my Haunted English Manor House and Ghostwatching Channel. Won't you stay a while, settle down in a comfy chair by the fire and watch some Ghost stories? As a Connoisseur of History the Victorian era and all things of a decidedly dark and spooky nature, I have a Large collection of Paranormal and Ghostly Videos in my Library that I am slowly converting from disintegrating vhs tapes onto dvd to help preserve them with the aid of a new fangled (slightly temperamental) machine! (...) I set up this account purely to delight and intrigue other Paranormal fans, I do not profit from it in any way."

Introduction of "Strange but True", a brilliant series from the 90's, hosted by Michael Aspel, exploring the paranormal... and very spooky!

More Historic Hauntings...

After the gruesome murder of Edward II, there are strange things happening at Berkeley Castle. And many years ago, in a village on the outskirts of London, a school burned down. Here also, there were reports of strange happenings. Maybe the master of the burned out school, a Victorian teacher, has something to do with it?

Civil wars are a time of deep social unrest, with brothers fighting brothers and fathers fighting sons. The Battle of Marston Moor was one of the bloodiest in the English Civil War. King Charles' army was hacked to pieces, hundreds of dead men were shoveled into never consecrated mass pits. Many modern visitors of the battlefield have reported encounters with 17th century soldiers...

Meet the Ghost of James Goldsworthy, visit the haunted Chavenage House and learn all about the Ingatestone Hauntings...

Legends of the Legionnaires

Out Of This World investigates the true story of the ghost soldiers who guarded the Sutton Hoo Treasure belonging to the first King of England. Does the ghost of Jane Austen still inhabit her much loved Chawton House? And what about this haunted honeymoon in the Bell Inn? Step inside one of the most haunted houses of England... yeah, here we are in Chingle Hall again! And don't forget to visit the very haunted hotel of Ettington Park in Stratford-upon-Avon!

The Romans occupied Britain for over 400 years. Many thousands of Roman legionnaires lived their lives on these islands and were buried here... Here is the true account of an encounter with a long departed Roman legion!

Dutchman, I'm very interested in this subject, and very sceptical, because I WANT to believe in an afterlife but have yet to hear anything to support it. For instance, in the Castle Leslie video, the man met Ned's "ghost" in the garden just before he died. He met a projection while Ned was still alive. I've done some internet searching and found some intriguing photos and EVP, but really nothing one could call "proof," you know?

Discovery Channel has a couple of so-called ghost shows, but they're both terrible. Ghost Hunters (not sure of that name) in which a team goes searching for spirits, but then run and scream like little girls if they actually find something. And then there's "A Haunting" which goes to great lengths to appear as true stories (although no where does it say "these stories are true"), but is really just religious propaganda. In 99.99% of the episodes a priest comes in at the end and saves the day.

Well... I'm with you, here... I would want to believe in an afterlife, but I'm far from sure... On the other hand, I sure like the "true" stories!

Great presentation of hauntings steeped with creepy Victorian history. Real intriguing work and quite convincing. Really enjoying this genre you hold so close to you. Very impressive work indeed!

I just hate horror movies. They just remind me of the goosebumps I feel every time I see the dreadful videos.

Im not realy susecpable to these things, i come from Doddinghurst in Essex England and we have a past for witchcraft in and all around us, i've walked home late at night down pitch black winding country lanes and had the eurge to run due to feeling a slight evil spirit presance in the past [only a few times in my life]

Now and then i like to ride my motorcycle at night on my own through deep countryside and stop here and there to smoke, i never pay much atention to where i am.

I was looking for a nice place to stop for a smoke and came upon this prity little village which was very dark and quiet and thats what i like so i pulled up at a triangle section in front of this pitch black lane going down hill with trees leaning inwards from either side of the road like a little tunnell.

I got off my bike and took my helmet and gloves off had a drink and now im looking for my smoke, at that time i had a all black GSXR 750 Suzuki that use'd to shine in the black of the night, i sparked my smoke and proceeded to admire my ride then all of a sudden i became aware of this evil presence that was all around, so evil in fact that the single only thought running through my mind was to leave, now, get out, fast..... I droped my smoke and could'nt get my hat on quick enough, did'nt even bother to do it or my jacket up and i sat on my gloves.

As soon as i started the bike i felt slightly safer, i belive the noise of the bike may have been a shock to what ever was there, but the presence was still strong, i rode into that dark lane without thinking and the evil presence intenseified ten fold to a point where i was the most scared i have ever been in my whole life [and i dont scare] i had my lites on full beam and it was still unusualy dark.

On exiting this lane i came to a village with a shop that was lit and i felt slightly safer so i decided that i would fix the helmet do my jacket up and put my gloves on, now im ready to ride so i got my self out of this village fast and as i did the feeling left completely, i hit the motorway and went strait home.

Knowing the route i took and what had happend i wanted to see this village on a map and this village turned out to be Pluckley which i new to be the most haunted in England.

There is a story that it once snowed in Pluckley and in the morning some of the villagers found cloven hoofed foot steps through the village and up the sides of houses and over the roof tops and into the fields in a strait line.....who knows...

I went back not long after that to the same place in the daytime and felt nothing....strange.

There is somthing about Pluckley, but it's not worth visiting.........Unless you want to walk up this lane in the middle of the night.
