Nostradamus in Orval...

Early in the morning, not so long ago, a visitor to the old Abbey of Orval discovered a corpse in the ruins. The head of Paul Schoeman was in a pool of water and his neck was disfigured by a bright red weal. ..

Paul Schoeman was the producer of the semi-historical documentary serial Mysterious Belgium. Patrick Bernauw published three historical faction thrillers about his work, also in a mix of facts and fiction. One of his books is Nostradamus in Orval, about the so-called prophecies of Nostradamus which are in fact containing a code to find The Fortune of the Bourbons. This ‘War Chest’ of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette disappeared in the Abbey of Orval during the French Revolution…

The police didn’t succeed in solving the mystery, and the historical mystery writer Patrick Bernauw, aka the Lost Dutchman, started an investigation of his own… Who killed Paul Schoeman? How was this done? And where can you find his murderer(s) and/or the Treasure of Orval?

Nostradamus, telling you in his own voice, about the treasures of Orval!

The police investigation indicated that one of the suspects, Bert De Ridder, had taken up residence in the bed & breakfast Les Sources du Moulin, in Villers-devant-Orval.  He showed a more than normal interest in the peculiar stone Bob Bron has found in his garden, as is proven by these pictures taken by Bob.

"Bert was very much interested in the stone, when I told him of the sounds my metal detector was producing there!" Bob said.

The true treasure hunt and/or the murder and mystery weekend will take you from Les Sources du Moulin to the impressive ruins of the abbey of Orval (Belgium), to the nearby basilica in the village of Avioth (France) and to the fortress of Montmédy (also in France, just across the border).
